09/26/2002 Entry: "Basketball"
Just finished watching the first game of the UAAP (NCAA of the Philippines) basketball championships. It was such an exciting game. La Salle University vs. Ateneo University -- both long time rivals. I found myself rooting for the Ateneo Blue Eagles. (They won!) I guess even if I'm not an alumna of Ateneo, I still feel part of it. Most of my close friends graduated from there, and I took some Calculus classes there before I went to Stanford. :)
Sometimes I wonder if I had missed anything by not going to college here. I guess I missed a bit of the college network -- most of my friends here are my high school friends. But that's fine, I wouldn't give up my US experience for anything. I've had the chance to live on my own, work, travel, and meet different people. Some of my friends have never had that opportunity, and all of them still live with their parents!
I'm fully adjusted to Philippine life now. It's so relaxing. I hang out with friends in the daytime and work at night. Play tennis, go to the gym, do yoga... I might just get used to this. I met my mom's accountants today for the inventory system I'm building -- more work for me! I hope I can finish by November...
