I'm going back to Manila tomorrow. I feel both happy and sad -- happy, because I'm going to see my family again; sad, because Garry's staying here. :(

I welcome the break from baking though. This month has been stressful and tiring, but I'm really happy that I'm getting good feedback about my pastries. I feel very motivated to make this little business of mine grow to something I can be proud of.

Here're some more photos of stuff I've been baking the past few days:

I've been making macarons for some time now, and I still manage to screw up. But once in a while, I bake them just right -- and it never fails to make me smile.

Last weekend I joined four other women entrepreneurs at a Holiday Sale in San Francisco. It was held in a charming Victorian house in the Mission. Lisa of Kept Couture invited me to set up a table and sell some of my pastries in their private weekend sale with Mandy and Sarah from Redstart Design and Rigel Stuhmiller (I love her fruit/vegetable prints). I was so busy preparing for the sale because I didn't know how much to prepare. It was my first time selling to people I didn't know, so I was a nervous wreck all week. I decided to make some chocolate sablés, macarons, lemon tarts, chocolate igloos, and strawberry cream puffs. Although we didn't get the turnout we wanted, it was a very good learning experience for me. One important thing I learned: It's great to have friends who will buy all your leftovers. :)
